Discover Northumberland

The Coble Quay estate is a stunning waterfront development featuring 4 apartment blocks, a boutique bunkhouse and a Cafe Bar. Coble Quay is located in the heart of Amble with access to the high street and its shops. Next door is Spurreli’s ice cream parlour, and the Harbour Village which consists of 15 small retail pods, a seafood centre selling locally caught seafood and a recently opened lobster hatchery. The harbour itself, which is home to many local fishing boats and hosts a successful market every Sunday, is a few minutes away and walks can be enjoyed along the pier and beach from here. Amble has come a long way from it’s history of coal mining and exportation and it is now a thriving town. Its many restaurants, bars, take away establishments and fish and chip shops are all within walking distance.

It is a perfect base to explore the coastline and countryside of Northumberland with miles of beautiful roads to be enjoyed, and the national cycle route passing right in front of the estate. Watersports can be enjoyed on the Coquet Estuary at the Shorebase Trust just outside of your window, or at the local Ladyburn Lake a few miles up the road and all equipment can be hired. The local friendly Northside Surf School offer surf and stand up paddle board lessons. Dave Gray’s Puffin Cruises offer trips to Coquet Island from the Amble Harbour which is home to 40,000 nesting sea birds.

The X18 bus route runs from Newcastle to Berwick throughout the day. We are also 15 minutes away from Alnmouth train station giving direct access to London and Edinburgh
